We are engineers and regulatory strategists who believe that energy and digital infrastructure are the foundation of a functioning economy — and that permitting shouldn't be the bottleneck.
We Accelerate Smart Infrastructure. Scaling the Permian and Beyond to the Gigawatt Era.
Bright Sky Environmental was founded on a single observation: the environmental permitting process was broken for the kinds of projects that matter most. Oil and gas producers, bitcoin mining operators, and hyperscale data center developers were losing months — sometimes years — to a permitting system designed for a different era.
We built Bright Sky to close that gap. Our team brings together deep regulatory expertise, engineering rigor, and operational urgency to deliver permits that protect your project schedule, not just your compliance record. We don't file paperwork. We engineer authorization strategies.
Since 2019, we have authorized over 665 industrial facilities across the most complex regulatory environments in North America — from ozone nonattainment zones in Texas to heavily regulated tribal zones of the Bakken (North Dakota).
We treat every permit as an engineering problem. Emissions modeling, dispersion analysis, flaring design — we build the technical case from the ground up so regulators have nothing to push back on.
Your project schedule is our project schedule. We deploy parallel workstreams, maintain direct relationships with state agencies, and compress timelines that other firms accept as fixed.
We do not try to do everything. Oil & gas, bitcoin mining, and hyperscale compute are the three sectors where energy and regulation intersect most critically. We are the best in the world at these three.
Our clients know the status of every permit, every agency interaction, and every risk in their project at all times. No surprises. No black boxes. Just direct, honest communication at every stage.
The infrastructure of the future does not fit neatly into existing regulatory frameworks. We are constantly writing new playbooks — for modular mining, for gigawatt data centers, for behind-the-meter generation.
